Holy Child of God,
How can it be that you choose us,
And are born in us, and in our caves?
We cower here, in fear, yet you find us,
Again,
And we are yours.
The love in your eye is all the gospel
We'll ever need, all grace, all hope,
All security and peace.
No drones can save us, no weapons,
No words of woe--
Only you, and the love in your eye.
Holy Child of God,
How can it be that you choose us,
Like stardust wrapped in sweet joy,
Like a farmer's field, splashed in sun,
Like the end of one world
And the beginning of another?
Holy Child of God,
Abide in us!
Abide in our hopes and dreams,
In our homes and halls.
Abide in our churches and families,
In our friendships and hearts.
O Dear Christ,
Enter in!
