She sails toward catasrophe, but only such sailors can save us now:
bearing in her berth medicines and instruments of healing hope.
What moves one human being to risk fire and fury for another?
She has already succeeded, of course, her witness to the
indivisible future of the ones who chart this course of mercy
and those who wait in Rafah, Khan Younis, Gaza.
By the dim light of tonight's moon, I pray to the Indivisible God
for the sailors and the cruel choreographers of deadly drones,
for the hungry children and the silenced victims of genocide.
May God stay Abraham's hand once again, and turn his heart
from ungodly obedience to a new, holy, unseen sacrifice:
at last, the proud justice of those who no longer kill for love.
