Dear Mr. President

Dear President Obama,
As a person of faith, as a Christian pastor, and as one of millions who voted (enthusiastically) for your reelection, I beg you to take a look at this movie and to reevaluate your administration's drone warfare policy.  I fail to see how any moral just war theory (if one accepts there is such a thing) can justify this cowardly use of violence on defenseless civilians.  It flies in the face of the very American values you've run on in two successful campaigns.  I appreciate the pressure your administration is under: to appease military contractors, to fight overseas battles without a stateside draft, and to do all this without risking American lives.  But I hope you'll agree--morally--that our use of drones is modern warfare at its most sinister and ugly.  What would become of the world (or our hearts and minds) if China or Syria were flying drones of their own over our cities and towns?
For the love of life, and the values of American democracy and courage, I beg you to show moral leadership and withdraw your support for the violent, abusive use of drones.  Such support does not measure up to the immense trust we have in you.
Yours in hope,
The Rev. David Grishaw-Jones
