ADVENT PRACTICE: "Watching for Tenderness"

Kind of a strange pick for today's edition: "HOW GENTRIFICATION FLIPS A NEIGHBORHOOD."  This 'Marketplace' report on gentrification and capitalism in LA is enough to make John the Baptist blush.

There's a kind of crassness and cruelty here that wounds us all...and dispossesses real people, neighbors, of their homes and lives among us.  It's very much an occupation: there's just no way around it.  It's the investor class occupying the poor, all over again.  "Where does it stop?" asks the reporter in the piece.  "It doesn't stop," says the investor.  "This is how capitalism works."
