Who is my neighbor? When did I see you hungry? For those of us living in the biblical tradition, the questions themselves become prayers. And these are the prayers that animate hope and resistance and courage. A biblical people is a questioning people. How many roads must a man walk down? How many times must the cannonballs fly?
I wonder how we might create and sustain communities capable of holding the questions, keeping them alive and fresh and urgent. After all, it seems the seeds of prophetic witness are sown in the questions we ask. Especially this week. Especially now.
