A couple of years ago, our friend Mary Male invited Jose Antonio Vargas to Santa Cruz, and to Peace United Church, to speak with young undocumented students at UCSC. He was brave and articulate that day, but more than that. He connected with the dozens of undergrads in the room--with passion, confidence and warmth. They believed him. They believed in him. And he, in them. This is the face of America. And this is the voice we need today.
