When Silence is Not an Option

In the very pulpit where Martin Luther King, Jr. came out against the Vietnam War (and the three American triplets: racism, militarism and materialism), Dr. Barber calls us to prophetic speech and resistance.  "Silence," he says throughout, "is no longer an option."  He's talking to preachers, sure.  And he's calling out artists and musicians and poets, sure.  But this message--like Ezekiel's and Jesus'--is for all of us: not to speak out, not to act up is simply not right.
