ADVENT 2: "All That Is Prays to You"

For years I've wanted to worship and pray (and a bit of footwork, and dancing, too)...with the congregation at Saint Gregory of Nyssa in San Francisco.  Each Eucharist begins in a procession, gently and generously choreographed for all ages and abilities.  Ancient melodies -- gathered from the world over -- inspire an expansive sense of worship, devotion and hope.

At long last, today was THAT day, my day for a visit.  "St. Gregory's Church," it says in their songbook, "invites people to see God's image in all humankind, to sing and dance to Jesus' lead, and to become God's friends."  Serenaded by the lively sounds of chant, bell and restless children...we did indeed "dance to Jesus' lead"...and the whole earth was lifted in celebration and sanctification.

Friends of God!  What a calling...what a vocation.  How simple, how sweet, how prophetic!  If you're in the Bay Area anytime soon, and you're looking for place to dance and pray, check them out: https://www.saintgregorys.org/.
And all the saints circle 'round...
