Friends, I've written a letter to the State Senate's Judiciary Committee, urging their support for HB1609, a bill that's already passed the House. This bill addresses the new abortion law in NH--and adds a critical exception (after 24 weeks) for parents who've received a 'fatal fetal diagnosis.' In other words, the one they're carrying will not live beyond birth. There's much work to be done to protect reproductive rights--and reverse the abortion law itself. But HB1609 starts by addressing the very real needs and heartbreak of this particular group of parents in our state. If you'd like to add your name to my letter, I'll have a copy available on Sunday, April 10. Or you can send your own.
