"So let us not talk falsely now
The hour's getting late."
(Bob Dylan, "All Along the Watchtower")
With the drums beating again for war, and 'businessmen' in suits lobbying for more fear and destruction, I'm driven back to the music I love, to the lyrics that inspire. Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" is one of those lyrics, and Richie Havens was one of the best!
“There must be some way out of here,” said the joker to the thief
"There’s too much confusion, I can’t get no relief
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth.”
May those with ears to hear, hear!
