POEM: "Now"
Is the earth soil sky atlantic pacific ice cap at the end
Begging the biped to slow down burn less eat green
Scares the hell out of me into me to wonder all this
But maybe so maybe yes maybe gaia the planet itself is
Shrieking into the winds crying mourning wailing as a
Virus that makes the biped wonder how much gas
He really needs how much Walmart he really has to have
How many hedge funds mutual funds motor boats
Tequila shots bar stools TV screens golf putters
Gas guzzling water wasting gadget multiplying things
Make an economy an economy or maybe just an orgy
Of eating drinking gorging oppressing manipulating accumulating
Settling devouring stealing cultures lands hope peace
Is the earth soil sky atlantic pacific ice cap at the end
Begging the biped to slow down burn less eat green
Is she speaking for the fishing people gathering people
Singing people sharing people sabbath people
Asking asking asking if we might go another way
Together partners with the earth sibilings of soil and sky
Tap dancing frozen ice caps and singing gaia's song
O mercy O sweet mercy bless the dead the doctors nurses
O frightening holy mystery break open open our hearts if
There is some renewing rebuking revealing repealing word
We are meant to hear meant to heed meant to learn here
Now for the earth with the earth upon the earth of the earth
Now
