Henry Smith reminds us that sending a letter to each is important and keeps this critical issue on the minds of our representatives in Washington.

Dear Senator Shaheen / Dear Senator Hassan
Dear Congressman Pappas
According to a recent Bread for the World report on hunger, "Malnutrition remains a leading cause globally of nearly half of all deaths of children under age 5."
Last year BFW lobbied heavily for a Global Nutrition Bill and Congress passed legislation to increase global nutrition funding to a total of $150 million.
Across our country and the world, far too many people, especially children, experience food insecurity on a daily basis. In the U.S., one in seven children lives in a food-insecure home. This is something that we should find altogether unacceptable in this, the wealthiest nation on earth!
The BFW report concludes: "Access to good nutrition for mothers and children should not be a partisan issue. By investing in domestic and international nutrition programs, we can help children get off to a good, healthy start in life."
As people of faith, we urge you to promote and even sponsor funding for programs aimed at combating and defeating hunger worldwide!
Sincerely,
