It seems pretty clear--from Sununu's New Hampshire to Newsom's California--that the political powers are committed to penalizing dissent, terrorizing students, frightening peace activists into submission and inaction. What's this about? Why are these universities and their state governments so eager to squelch dissent? I imagine the contractors that make billions on weapons and surveillance technologies are part of the equation. I imagine congressional overlords demanding loyalty are as well. But, you know, history will only prove that they are wrong. History will only show that the students and faculty suffering this cruelty were speaking up for children suffering, for families starving, for a people seeking only to live in peace with human rights.
