DRONES IN GAZA: ""How This War's Different"

https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/05/opinions/israel-gaza-psychological-trauma-damon

I'm powerfully and sadly moved by the piece above and Arwa Damon's phrases: "psychological obliteration," "crushed psyche" and "the relentless buzz of drones".  If what Hamas executed on October 7 was fierce and racist, then what Israel continues to inflict on Gaza is also fierce and racist.  There's no two ways about it: violence inflicted on whole communities, simply to punish who they were created to be, is vengeance and cruelty.  When a whole state inflicts that violence on a minority that depends on that state and is systematically crushed by it--that's nationalism at its unfettered worst.  That an entire people are now living through "psychological obliteration"--and are taunted and tormented every night by drones poised to rain destruction on their families--is no roadmap to peace.  It's a maddening exercise in what we've always done: an eye for an eye for an eye for an eye for an eye.
